Resumé: La notion d’expérience est riche d’une longue histoire qui tourne autour de trois notions-clés : le raisonnement hypothético-déductif, la mathématisation et l’instrumentation. L’intelligence artificielle, dont on a défini au préalable les deux grandes tendances (“science des conditions générales et effectives de l’intelligence” et “science des artefacts interactifs”), hérite de ce contexte mais en innovant grâce à la modélisation informatique : celle-ci instaure un nouveau rapport entre l’objectif et l’empirique. En réinterprétant la notion d’expérience, l’intelligence artificielle a mis au jour une nouvelle signification de ce terme, l’expérience de pensée, que deux notions nouvelles rendent possible : celle de jeu d’écriture et celle d’inconscient procédural.
Experimental method, computing modelisation and artificial intelligence
Abstract: The notion of experience has a long history which is focused on three key-notions: deductive reasoning, mathematisation and instrumentation. Artificial intelligence, defined either as the “science of the general and effective conditions of intelligence” or as the “science of interactive artefacts”, inherits this history but goes a step further thanks to computing modelisation : from this point of view, a new relation between objectivity and empiricity is made possible. In reinterpreting the notion of experience, AI gives a new meaning to the idea of thought experiment. This idea is made possible thanks to two notions: that of writing procedure and that of procedural unconscious.
