In this paper, we present an interactionist approach to the process of designing a document for end-user. Our aim is to underline the stakes of the interaction analysis for the process of design. Accordingly, we study a situation joining a developer, a user and a technical writer which interact during a working session. We show that the document for end-user must integrate the results of a dialectic which is tied between the activity of the user and the operation of the software; i.e. to consider the characteristics of the product in the context its actual usage.
