The perspective drawn by Cavaillès against the philosophies of consciousness has deeply modified the way in which the question of the locus of mind may be raised. In fact, the first section reads in Cavaillès’ analyses a situation of the mind. However, this situation is incomplete and opens up another question: that of the locus of the subject. The second section follows Lacan’s interpretation of Descartes and the way in which the question of the subject is raised. It remains to be seen whether the Lacan’s subject may be situated. I first try, in order to situate the subject, a cosmological hypothesis inspired by Whitehead. Finally, I rather refer to fiction the question of the situation of the subject.
