This article proposes a classification of linguistic prostheses, which are tools, devices, or technologies that transform the writing process. The nine identified categories of prostheses are organized around the concepts of autocompletion, correction, transformation, instructions, conversation, composition, programming, assistants and representants. The consequences of using these prostheses are discussed, particularly in terms of authorship, et the emerging economic models associated with them are examined in relation to the potential proletarianization of linguistic skills.
