What is at stake in this contribution is to unfold and put together the analyses that are available on vigilance in neurosciences on the one side, in Husserlian phenomenology on the other side, with the aim of checking their structural compatibility. What will emerge eventually is the specific descriptive potentiality of the phenomenological approach, which makes it possible to redefine vigilance as a micro-dynamics of awakening. In so doing, the way is paved for a future first-person microphenomenology of vigilance, that may build on that hypothesis and contribute to verify it.
