Volume 83 presents a collection of articles submitted freely by their authors. These so-called ‘free’ submissions sometimes appear at the end of a volume comprising a thematic dossier. In this volume, we have collected only free submissions without a common theme, which we hope will allow us to better showcase them. These articles address issues ranging from the conceptual modelling of schizophrenia to the aesthetic experience of the artist, including reflections on creativity in the age of generative artificial intelligence, and training and expertise in the field of industrial safety. They also include presentations on the ecological approach to robotics, the active inference approach in cognitive science, and a non-phenomenological approach to the problem of consciousness in the philosophy of mind.
